Check out the exclusive article and testimonies from the Governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, about his expectations for UAVI drones in fighting fires.
“…..The Government of Amazonas acquired two remotely piloted aircraft capable of flying at a height of 30 meters – the equivalent of a 10-story building – which will assist firefighters in their work fighting fires in the state.
"It's a unique technology that will help combat fires in the state, focusing on strengthening our efforts to combat wildfires that primarily affect municipalities in the south of the state," explained Governor Wilson Lima.
The acquisition of the equipment, which features cutting-edge technology developed at the São José dos Campos Technology Park (SP), represents a milestone in the modernization of firefighting, with particular attention to forest fires. The technology was demonstrated during the implementation of Integrated Firefighting and Civil Protection Groups (GCIP) in 16 municipalities in Amazonas.
The drone is the result of a partnership between CBMAM and the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Industry (UAVI), a project developed through joint study, planning, and testing. The expertise of Amazonian firefighters was essential in customizing the aircraft to the corporation's operational demands.
