ANAC authorizes the UAVI 100 Bombeiro project, a Brazilian drone developed for firefighting.

The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) has authorized the UAVI 100 Bombeiro project, a Brazilian unmanned aircraft developed to support firefighting operations in urban, industrial, and hard-to-reach locations.

The authorization represents a new stage for the equipment, which now has a project analyzed within the regulatory requirements applicable to its configuration and the proposed operating concept.

Developed by UAVI in São José dos Campos (SP), the system was designed to deliver water or extinguishing agent to points where direct approach by teams may be limited by height, thermal intensity, smoke, or structural risk.

Unlike conventional drones, the UAVI 100 Firefighter operates connected to a hose attached to a fire truck, hydrant, or pumping system. The aircraft positions its jet close to the fire, while firefighters remain in a safer operational area.

The authorization process required engineering documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, standard and emergency procedures, risk analyses, and operational safety criteria. More than just a bureaucratic step, the approval demonstrates the platform's evolution into a structured, documented system prepared for professional applications.

The equipment was designed to support incidents on facades, buildings, warehouses, industrial facilities, and elevated structures, expanding the operational capacity of emergency teams and reducing their exposure to the most critical environments.

The authorization also represents progress for the Brazilian drone industry, highlighting the national capacity to develop specialized solutions for critical missions, accompanied by engineering, technical documentation, training, and operational support.

Published in 2026, ANAC's new RBAC No. 100 regulation strengthens the regulatory environment for professional drone operations. The authorization of the UAVI 100 Firefighter project occurs within this context of regulatory evolution and reinforces the importance of technological development aligned with operational safety requirements.
