Drones revolutionize firefighting in São Paulo.

The Fire Department of the State of São Paulo The company has adopted a new technology that promises to transform firefighting: drones capable of carrying hoses and dropping water directly onto the flames. The first practical use occurred during a large fire at a factory in the city's metropolitan area.

Developed at the Innovation and Technology Park in São José dos Campos, the drones are designed to access difficult and dangerous areas without putting human lives at risk. Capable of dropping approximately one thousand liters of water per minute, they were crucial in an operation involving 95 firefighters and 35 vehicles, battling explosions caused by intense fire.

The innovation allows the equipment to be operated remotely while connected to fire hydrants or fire trucks via extendable hoses. Additionally, thermal cameras aid in the precise location of the fire's source and potential victims trapped in the affected areas.

This initiative is not intended to replace human professionals, but rather to increase their safety and efficiency in operations. Drones also have the potential to save lives in situations such as drownings or urgent transport due to their additional capacity to carry up to 300 kilograms.

With this technology already approved by ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil), its use is expected to expand even further after successful initial tests conducted by the São Paulo Fire Department.
